  This chain of post offices makes false and misleading claims about its opening hours, and doesnt seem to mind that its customers experience inconvenience and duplicate car parking charges as a result. On the Amazon website, it states that the Locksbottom branch is open from 7am in the morning for package collection on weekdays and 8am at weekends. This is not true. The post office opens at these times for the sale of stamps and other basic services, but parcel collection is only available during core office hours of 9am to 5pm. If McColls posted accurate information about its opening times on Amazon, customers would probably choose different collection points with more flexible hours. Moreover, I have generally found staff unhelpful and officious. The Amazon website states that proof of ID is required (e.g. a bank card) when collecting parcels. In practice, however, I have been asked to provide proof of address separately from proof of ID. This requirement is not easy to meet, as even a passport does not contain these details. For a basic parcel collection service, I dont understand why the staff would cast themselves in the role of gatekeepers, in effect deciding whether you have proved who you say you are to their satisfaction before handing over goods you have already paid for. In addition to addressing the misleading claims about opening hours, the management need to train the staff to understand that they are not processing a passport application or car tax when they are asked to hand over an item that already belongs to the customer by virtue of the fact that the customer has paid for it.
